What is Dubai Design District?

Dubai Design District, known as d3, is a TECOM Group district that TECOM describes as a creative platform for design, fashion, architecture, art and retail. d3's own press release of 28 April 2025 says it has been open since 2015 and that its community had grown to more than 1,100 businesses and 20,000 creative professionals. Wikipedia places it beside Dubai Creek next to Business Bay and calls it a TECOM free zone business park.

Wikipedia gives 2013 as the year d3 was established, while d3 speaks of opening its doors in 2015. A company website should state one year and say which milestone it means.

Which events shape d3's calendar?

d3 hosts recurring events whose dates draw public attention, including Dubai Design Week in November. d3's events page describes the following.

• Dubai Design Week, with d3 as strategic partner
• Downtown Design, described as the anchor event of Dubai Design Week
• Dubai Fashion Week, founded by d3 and the Arab Fashion Council
