Restaurant and Cafe Website Design

Most people open a restaurant website on a phone, standing outside or sitting in a car, wanting a menu, an address and a way to order. We design sites that answer those three things quickly.

Short answer

A restaurant website should put the menu, opening hours, location and an order or reservation button within one thumb-scroll on a phone. Tooba Web designs these as custom sites, handles orders through WhatsApp or a link to your existing delivery platform, and does not build online shops.

The first screen: what a hungry visitor needs

Put the essentials above everything else: the venue name, cuisine in a few words, today's opening hours, a map link and one clear action button. A full-screen video of the dining room may look impressive, but it pushes the useful information down and slows the page.

Menu pages that work

A menu uploaded as a PDF is awkward on a phone: it needs pinching and zooming, and search engines read it poorly. We build the menu as real page text, grouped into sensible categories, with a short description for dishes that need one. Useful additions include:

  • Dietary markers your kitchen can stand behind, such as vegetarian or halal where applicable.
  • A line inviting guests to tell staff about allergies.
  • A visible "menu updated" date so guests trust what they read.
  • A separate section for breakfast, lunch or set menus if hours differ.

If your venue has to show allergen or food labelling information, confirm the requirements with the local municipality or food-safety authority.

Ordering by WhatsApp or through your delivery platform

We do not build online shops, payment checkouts or delivery systems. There are two simple routes instead:

  1. WhatsApp. A button opens a message to your business number, with a starting line such as "I would like to place an order". Your team replies and confirms the details, so staff need to be able to handle the volume.
  2. Your existing platform. If you already take orders through a delivery app or a reservation tool, the site links straight to your own page there.

Pick the route your team can actually staff during opening hours. A button that leads nowhere on a busy evening costs you more than having no button.

Photography that sells the food, not the stock library

Photographs of your real dishes and rooms matter more than design flourishes. We can brief you on a simple shot list: signature dishes in natural light, the entrance, the seating areas, the team at work. We prepare the images for the web so they load quickly, and add descriptive alternative text for accessibility.

Google Business Profile stays with you

Your Google Business Profile is managed by you as the owner, since Google verifies it against your premises. We do not run it for you. What we do is help you keep the website consistent with it: the same venue name, address, phone number, opening hours and a link to the menu page. Mismatches confuse both guests and search engines.

Speed on mobile

Restaurant visitors are impatient and often on mobile data. Our builds keep pages light: compressed images in modern formats, a small number of fonts, no auto-playing background video, and menu text that loads immediately. We also test the layout on small screens first, because that is where most of your visitors will be.

English, Arabic and other audiences

Menus often serve tourists, residents and office workers in the same week. We can produce English and Arabic versions, with Arabic laid out right-to-left. The Arabic text is generated with AI assistance and then edited, so ask a team member who reads Arabic fluently to check dish names before launch.

How we work with you remotely

We work from Istanbul, one hour behind the UAE, so calls land inside your normal day. There is no UAE office. We agree scope on WhatsApp, share drafts you can open on your own phone, and take one consolidated list of changes at a time so that revisions stay manageable. You supply menus, photographs, logo and opening hours; we handle design, build, hosting and SSL.

Frequently asked questions

Can customers pay for orders on the website?

No. We do not build online shops or payment checkouts. Orders go through WhatsApp or through the delivery or ordering platform you already use.

Should the menu be a PDF?

We recommend page text instead. It is easier to read on a phone, easier to update and easier for search engines to understand. You can still offer a printable PDF as an extra.

Will you manage my Google Business Profile?

No, that remains with you as the owner. We will tell you which details to keep identical between the profile and the website.

How do I change prices or dishes later?

We agree how updates work during the project, either by sending us the changes on WhatsApp or, for larger needs, a simple editing setup. Ask for a quote on WhatsApp.

Do you work with small cafes?

Yes. The scope is adjusted to the venue, from a single compact page to a multi-page bilingual site.
