Website maintenance and support
A website needs care after launch. Tooba Web keeps it updated, backed up and monitored, and handles your change requests by WhatsApp.
Website maintenance is the ongoing work that keeps a site secure, current and working after launch: software updates, security patches, backups, monitoring and small content changes. Tooba Web provides it remotely from Istanbul, takes requests over WhatsApp, and agrees in writing what is included and what counts as a separate project.

Why does a website need maintenance?
A website needs maintenance because the software under it, the browsers that display it and the information on it all keep changing. A site left alone does not stay as it was; it slowly falls behind.
Outdated software is a common route for attacks, an expired certificate shows visitors a warning, and a form that silently stops sending email loses enquiries without anyone noticing. Opening hours, services and phone numbers also change, and wrong details on a business site cost trust. Maintenance is the routine that catches these problems early.
What does a maintenance service include?
The exact scope is agreed in writing, but a maintenance arrangement generally covers the following.
- Updates. Applying updates to the site's software, themes and plugins after checking they do not break anything.
- Security patches. Installing fixes for known vulnerabilities promptly.
- Backups. Scheduled copies of files and database, with a test restore from time to time.
- Monitoring. Alerts if the site is down, a form fails or the certificate is close to expiry.
- Content changes. Small edits such as text, images, opening hours, team members or a new offer.
- Checks. Broken links, page speed and how the site looks on phones.
- Support. Answers to your questions about how the site works.
How are requests handled over WhatsApp?
Requests are sent to Tooba Web on WhatsApp at +90 216 393 10 07, and we confirm in writing what we understood before we change anything. A message is quick, but it also needs to be clear.
- Send the request with the page address, the new text or images and any deadline.
- We reply to confirm the change, or ask a question if something is unclear.
- We make the change on a test copy where the site is complex, then publish it.
- We send a short confirmation and a link so you can check.
Istanbul is one hour behind the UAE, so working hours overlap almost completely. Where possible, send requests in one message rather than many fragments. Urgent problems should be marked as urgent, and we reply as soon as we can, but we do not promise a fixed response time.
What is a small change, and what is a project?
A small change alters existing content or settings; a project adds something new that has to be designed, built and tested. Keeping the two apart avoids surprises on both sides.
| Usually maintenance | Usually a separate project |
|---|---|
| Changing a phone number or opening hours | Designing a new section or page layout |
| Swapping a photo or editing a paragraph | Writing a library of new articles |
| Updating software and plugins | Moving to a different platform |
| Restoring a backup after a fault | A full redesign |
| Fixing a broken form or link | Building a booking system or dashboard |
When a request falls into the second column, we say so and give a separate written quote. Our custom software service covers larger builds.
What is out of scope?
Maintenance does not include work on things we do not control or services we do not offer. Being clear about this prevents disputes later.
- Problems caused by a hosting provider, a domain registrar or another third party, although we will help you raise them.
- Online shops, mobile apps and cloud-infrastructure projects, none of which Tooba Web offers.
- Advertising, SEO and content strategy, which are separate services such as SEO.
- Recovering a site that has no backup, or whose accounts you cannot access.
- Legal, regulatory or sector-specific compliance checks. Ask the relevant authority or a lawyer.
We also make no promise that a site will never be attacked or never go down.
What do you own, and how does maintenance start?
You own the site, the content, the domain and the hosting account, and we work with access that you give us. Tooba Web asks for access to the hosting panel, the website administration and, if relevant, Search Console and analytics.
We then review the site: software versions, backups, certificate, forms and speed. The result is a short written summary of the state of the site and a proposal for what to do first. The setup of servers and certificates is described in hosting, SSL and security. To arrange care for your site, contact us; payment is by invoice and bank transfer.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need maintenance if my site was only just launched?
Yes, though the first weeks are usually quiet. Software releases security fixes on its own schedule, certificates renew on theirs, and your information will change. Starting maintenance at launch means backups and monitoring are already running when something needs fixing, instead of being set up after a problem appears.
Can you maintain a website you did not build?
Often, yes, after a review. We check the software, access, backups and code quality, then tell you honestly whether we can maintain it safely. Some old or heavily customised sites are too fragile to update without risk, and in that case we will say so and discuss options instead of accepting the work.
How quickly will you make a change?
Simple changes are often handled quickly, but we do not promise a fixed response time. Turnaround depends on how clear the request is, whether it is urgent and how complex it turns out to be. Mark urgent requests as urgent, and we will tell you when to expect the change.
What happens if something breaks after an update?
We keep a backup before each update and, where the site allows, test the update on a copy first. If something breaks, we restore the previous version or fix the fault and tell you what happened. Updates carry some risk, which is exactly why backups come first.
Can I cancel maintenance?
Yes. The arrangement is agreed in writing, including how to end it. Because you own the site, domain, hosting account and logins, stopping maintenance leaves you in control. We hand over any documentation and credentials we hold for your site, so you can continue elsewhere.
