Website development in Dubai: what to decide before the build

Development is where a design becomes a working site. This guide covers the choices that matter to a business owner, from CMS or custom build to hosting, handover and maintenance.

Short answer

Website development in Dubai starts with one decision: a content management system if your staff will edit pages often, or a custom build if you want a lean, tailored site. Either way, plan for speed, security, search-friendly structure, hosting and a clear handover. We do not build e-commerce.

CMS or custom build

A CMS is an admin area where staff edit pages without a developer. A custom build is written for your site specifically. Neither is better in every case.

Three questions settle most cases. Who will update the site, and how often? Does it need features beyond pages and forms? Who will look after it in two years? Answer those and the choice is usually clear. Tell us on WhatsApp and we recommend an approach in the quote and explain why.

Performance

  • Resize and compress images, and use modern formats where browsers support them.
  • Keep page layouts stable while loading, so buttons do not jump as images appear.
  • Limit scripts, fonts and third-party widgets. Each one adds loading time.
  • Use caching so repeat visits load faster.
  • Test on a mid-range phone over mobile data, not only on a fast office connection.
  • Load heavy items such as videos and maps only when the visitor needs them.
  • Choose hosting with fast response for your main audience, and check pages again after launch because new content can slow a site down.

Security

  • SSL on every page, so the site loads over HTTPS.
  • Keep software current and install only add-ons you need.
  • Use unique strong logins, two-step verification where offered, and give each person only the access they need.
  • Protect forms from spam, and store backups away from the live site.
  • Remove accounts for people who have left the business or finished their work with us.

SEO-ready structure

Search visibility is far easier to build in than to retrofit. We set up:

  • One clean URL per page, with a descriptive title and heading structure.
  • Internal links between related pages, so visitors and search engines can follow your services.
  • An XML sitemap and canonical tags, so search engines see the right version of each page.
  • Language tags linking English and Arabic versions.
  • Text as real text, not baked into images.
  • Redirects from old addresses when you replace an existing site.

Ranking cannot be promised, but a sound structure removes avoidable obstacles. Content and ongoing work are covered under SEO services.

Integrations

Common connections include WhatsApp click-to-chat, Google Analytics and Search Console, an embedded map, email delivery for enquiry forms, booking calendars and links to a CRM. Analytics and advertising tags may require a consent notice, and each extra connection is another thing to test and maintain, so we add only those you will actually use. Because we do not build online shops, payment checkouts are outside our scope. For bespoke systems see custom software development.

Hosting, handover and maintenance

We set up hosting and SSL. Before launch, agree who owns what:

  • The domain name should be registered in your company's name.
  • You receive admin access, source files and a short guide to updating content.
  • Backups and their restore process are explained.
  • A final checklist is walked through: forms deliver to the right inbox, redirects work, and the site displays correctly on phones.

After launch, maintenance covers updates, backup checks, uptime monitoring and content changes. It is agreed separately, so you pay only for what you want. The overall approach to the design stage is in our web design guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build online shops?

No. We build business and corporate websites and custom web applications, but not e-commerce stores or mobile apps.

Can I edit the site myself?

Yes, if we include a CMS or editing area. Tell us at the start who will update pages and how often, and we will recommend the right approach.

Who owns the website and domain?

You should. The domain is registered in your company's name, and at handover you receive access to the site and its files.

Do you handle hosting?

We set up hosting and SSL as part of launch and can explain the options. Ongoing maintenance is agreed separately.

Will a new site rank on Google?

No one can promise rankings. We build a clean, search-friendly structure so that your content has a fair chance to be found.
