Websites for companies in Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA), Dubai
DAFZA sits beside Dubai International Airport, and its companies range from electronics traders to aviation suppliers. Many of them sell to other businesses, so the website's job is to start a purchasing conversation.

Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA) is a free zone beside Dubai International Airport, established in 1996 and now one of three zones under the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ). A DAFZA company website should describe its licensed activity exactly, give business buyers specifications and a quote route, and avoid claims about trading outside the zone. Tooba Web builds it remotely from Istanbul.

What is Dubai Airport Free Zone?
Dubai Airport Free Zone is a Dubai free zone beside Dubai International Airport, established in 1996. Wikipedia gives the 1996 date, and a Dubai Media Office release of August 2021 describes its location as next to the airport. Law No. (3) of 2009, on the Dubai legislation portal, transferred ownership of the zone from the Government of Dubai to the Investment Corporation of Dubai.
A Dubai Media Office release of 9 April 2026 lists Dubai Airport Freezone, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai CommerCity as the three economic zones of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ). That is why the names in sources vary, as the next section shows.
Which name should a DAFZA website use?
Use Dubai Airport Free Zone, or DAFZ, for the zone itself, and name DIEZ only where you mean the wider authority. The sources use several forms, summarised below.
| Name in the sources | What it refers to |
|---|---|
| Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZ) | The free zone; Wikipedia and the April 2026 Dubai Media Office release use this form |
| Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) | The name the Dubai Media Office used in its 2021 releases |
| DIEZ | The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, which lists three zones |
| Dubai International Airport | The airport the zone lies next to |
Which sectors and companies does the zone report?
DAFZA said in August 2021 that it supported more than 1,800 companies across more than 20 economic sectors. A March 2021 Dubai Media Office release said the electronics, electrical and ICT group had the largest number of registered companies. These are dated figures, so ask DAFZ or DIEZ for current ones before publishing a company count.
Wikipedia, whose DAFZ page carries a promotional-content notice, lists IT and telecoms, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, engineering and building materials, aerospace and aviation, logistics and freight, food and beverage, and jewellery and precious stones among its sectors. It also names licence types: trade, service, industrial, e-commerce, general trading and a dual licence.
How does licensing work, in general terms?
A DAFZA company is licensed through the free zone's own framework, so its licence type decides what it may say it does. The Dubai portal says each free zone has its own rules and regulators, while the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) manages mainland licensing, and Executive Council Resolution No. (11) of 2025 lets DET permit free zone establishments to operate outside their zones.
Wikipedia mentions a dual licence arrangement under which a DAFZ company can apply for a mainland licence without a mainland office. Rules change, so a website should not promise mainland delivery or sales unless the company is certain; confirm with DAFZ, DIEZ, DET or a lawyer.
What should a DAFZA company's website do?
A DAFZA website should make it easy for a buyer to check what you supply and start a request, with every claim limited to your licence. Visitors are likely to be other businesses, some of them abroad, who compare suppliers on specifications.
- Give each product group or service its own page, with specifications in tables.
- Use a quote form that asks for quantities and destination, plus WhatsApp for the first conversation.
- Show certificates and approvals only if you hold them and can document them.
- Date statements about routes and the airport: the Dubai Media Office said in April 2024 that all operations at Dubai International Airport will be transferred to Al Maktoum International Airport in the coming years.
Wikipedia lists an e-commerce licence type, but we do not build online shops. We build catalogue and enquiry sites and, where needed, custom quote tools.
How does remote delivery from Istanbul work for a DAFZA company?
A DAFZA company can work with Tooba Web entirely from its own desk, because delivery is remote from Istanbul. We have no office, staff or Google Business Profile in the UAE and no connection with DAFZ or DIEZ; Istanbul is one hour behind the UAE.
The brief goes through WhatsApp (+90 216 393 10 07), a video call settles the structure, drafts arrive as links and revision rounds are agreed in the thread. Payment is by invoice and bank transfer. See website development and Jebel Ali Free Zone for another trade-focused zone.
Frequently asked questions
When was Dubai Airport Free Zone established?
Wikipedia says it was established in 1996, and a Dubai Media Office release of March 2021 described the free zone as celebrating its Silver Jubilee year. Law No. (3) of 2009 later transferred its ownership to the Investment Corporation of Dubai. Quote the year with attribution when you use it.
Is DAFZA the same as DIEZ?
No. DIEZ is the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, whose three zones are Dubai Airport Freezone, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai CommerCity, according to a Dubai Media Office release of 9 April 2026. DAFZ is one of those zones. A company's website should name the zone in which it is licensed.
Can a DAFZA company sell in mainland Dubai?
That depends on its licence and the applicable rules, which change. Wikipedia mentions a dual licence arrangement, and the Dubai portal points to the Department of Economy and Tourism for mainland licensing. A website should not claim mainland delivery unless the company is certain; confirm with DAFZ, DET or a lawyer.
Do you have an office in Dubai Airport Free Zone?
No. Tooba Web is a brand of Tuba Yazılım in Istanbul and works only remotely. We have no office, staff, address or Google Business Profile in the free zone or anywhere in the UAE. Calls, drafts and approvals all happen online, usually through WhatsApp and video calls.
Can you build an online shop for my trading company?
No. We do not build online shops or e-commerce checkouts, and we do not build mobile apps. We can build a business-to-business website with product pages, specification tables and quote-request forms, plus a custom web tool for internal quote tracking where your process needs one.
