Websites for companies in Dubai South, Dubai

Dubai South is a planned city, not one neighbourhood, and its parts have different names, purposes and customers. A company's website has to say which part it belongs to and what exists today.

Short answer

Dubai South is an emerging 145-square-kilometre master-planned city in Dubai, launched as a Dubai Government project in 2006 and built around Al Maktoum International Airport. A company website there should say which district and activity it covers, separate what exists from what is planned, and give business buyers a clear enquiry route. Tooba Web builds such sites remotely from Istanbul.

What is Dubai South?

Dubai South is an emerging 145 square-kilometre master-planned city that was launched as a Dubai Government project in 2006, according to the Dubai Media Office. It was formerly called Dubai World Central, and Wikipedia cites an August 2015 report of the renaming. A January 2026 Dubai Media Office release says Dubai South welcomed 653 new companies during 2025, bringing its operational businesses to more than 4,200.

Wikipedia lists planned parts such as Residential City, Logistics City, Aviation City, Commercial City and Golf City around the airport. The same 2026 release names a Logistics District, a Residential District and the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub.

Which names will you meet, and what does each one mean?

Several names overlap around Dubai South, and a website should use each one only for what it actually refers to. The table summarises what our sources say.

NameWhat the sources say
Dubai World CentralThe earlier name of the area; Wikipedia also uses it for the airport, code DWC
Al Maktoum International AirportOpened in 2010 with cargo flights and in 2013 for passengers, per Wikipedia
Expo City DubaiThe site of Expo 2020, with its own website and free zone section
Dubai South Business HubA digital-first free zone platform by Dubai South, within Dubai South Business Park

What exists today, and what is only planned?

Several headline figures for the airport and Expo City describe plans, so a company website should separate what is open from what is announced. A Dubai Media Office release of 15 June 2026 says the Al Maktoum International Airport project remains on course to commence operations in 2032. An April 2024 release gives an ultimate capacity exceeding 260 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo a year, and says all operations at Dubai International Airport will be transferred there in the coming years.

The Dubai Media Office said in October 2024 that Expo City Dubai spans 3.5 sq km and will be home to more than 35,000 residents and 40,000 professionals under a new master plan, close to the airport and Jebel Ali Port. Wikipedia records that Expo 2020 itself ran from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

How are companies in Dubai South licensed?

A Dubai South address does not show which authority licensed a company. Dubai South's website lists a free zone section and a business set-up page, and the Dubai Media Office described the Dubai South Business Hub in September 2025 as a digital-first free zone platform. The Dubai government portal says each free zone sets its own rules under its own authority, while mainland licensing sits with the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

A website must describe the activity exactly as licensed and avoid claims about trading outside the zone unless the company is sure. Please confirm with Dubai South, DET or a lawyer.

What should a Dubai South company's website do?

It should tell a business buyer which district you work in, what you handle and how to start a conversation. The readers are likely to be other businesses, such as freight forwarders, suppliers and procurement staff, some of them abroad.

  • Name the district and the activity in the first screen, using the names in the table above.
  • Show capacity, certificates and routes you can document, and keep plans and announcements in dated news items.
  • Use a quote form that asks for origin, destination and quantity, plus WhatsApp for first contact.

The January 2026 release also mentions EZDubai, a dedicated e-commerce zone. We do not build online shops, but we can build a company's catalogue and enquiry forms, or a custom quote-tracking tool.

How does remote delivery from Istanbul work for a Dubai South company?

Distance does not change how we work with a Dubai South company: everything happens online. Tooba Web is a brand of Tuba Yazılım in Istanbul, which is one hour behind the UAE, and it has no office, staff or Google Business Profile in the country.

Scope and drafts move through WhatsApp (+90 216 393 10 07) and video calls, with revision rounds agreed before launch. Payment is by invoice and bank transfer. See website development, SEO and Dubai Airport Free Zone for another airport-linked free zone.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Dubai South and Dubai World Central?

Dubai World Central was the earlier name of the area, and Wikipedia cites an August 2015 report of its renaming to Dubai South. Wikipedia also notes that the airport is known as Dubai World Central, code DWC. Use Dubai South for the city and Al Maktoum International Airport for the airport.

How large is Dubai South?

A Dubai Media Office release of December 2024 describes an emerging 145 square-kilometre master-planned city launched as a Dubai Government project in 2006. Districts and the airport have their own figures, so quote each with its source and date, and do not add them together or treat plans as completed areas.

Is Expo City Dubai part of Dubai South?

Our sources do not say so. The Dubai Media Office describes Expo City Dubai as a master plan of 3.5 sq km on the Expo 2020 site, close to Al Maktoum International Airport and Jebel Ali Port, and the city has its own website and free zone section. Use the location name that appears on your own lease or licence.

Do you have an office in Dubai South?

No. Tooba Web is a brand of Tuba Yazılım in Istanbul and works only remotely. We have no office, staff, address or Google Business Profile in Dubai South or anywhere in the UAE. Calls, drafts and approvals all happen online, usually through WhatsApp and video calls.

Can you build an online shop for my logistics company?

No. We do not build online shops or e-commerce checkouts, and we do not build mobile apps. We can build a business-to-business website with service pages, a catalogue and quote-request forms, and a custom web tool such as a quote or shipment-status dashboard where your process needs one.
