What is Mussafah?
Mussafah, spelled Musaffah by most official bodies, is one of Abu Dhabi's most important industrial and commercial districts. The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) calls it a major hub for logistics, trade, construction and workforce accommodation, supporting thousands of businesses. The Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi lists Musaffah among the most populated areas of the Abu Dhabi Region in its 2024 population release.
Both spellings are in use. A business page can therefore show each once and then follow the wording on its licence.
How do the port, channel and ICAD zones fit together?
The district combines a working port, a long deep-water channel and industrial zones now operated by KEZAD. The list shows how each piece is labelled in official material.

What is the Musaffah Innovation District?
It is DMT's long-term plan, announced on 1 October 2026, to turn Musaffah into a competitive industrial and investment district. The plan's first phase runs to 2030 and includes road projects on 8th Street and the E30 corridor, an initial release of about 100 hectares of land and an upgrade of the established automotive cluster.
Priority activities for that phase include automotive services, carpentry and woodwork, food production, retail and wholesale trade, city-serving logistics and green construction industries. A workshop or supplier site can reflect that direction, but should not claim any role in the plan unless it has one.
Who licenses a Mussafah business?
It depends on where the premises and the licence sit, so the address alone does not settle it. The table summarises what official sources say.
